The Size and Shape of the New Hampshire Land Surveyor Stamp

A lot of land surveyor stamps are circular, but in New Hampshire, it’s a square. The size of this outer square must be 1-11/16.” However, the stamp also has an inner square and its measurements have to be 1-1/2.”

The Design of the New Hampshire Land Surveyor Stamp

Like we just mentioned, the New Hampshire land surveyor stamp definitely has a unique look to it. Amongst other things, this involves a signature line that appears at the bottom of the stamp’s inner square.

The most prominent feature of the stamp is the compass that appears inside it, opened at roughly 90 degrees. Down the right side of the compass, the New Hampshire land surveyor stamp should read, “State of New Hampshire.” On the other side of the compass, it will say, “Licensed Land Surveyor.”

In the center, then, your stamp ID number will be given, preceded by, “No.” Below that, in three lines or fewer, will be your name.

The word “licensed” has to be found in the inner circle down at the bottom.

Using the New Hampshire Land Surveyor Stamp

You can use the New Hampshire land surveyor stamp as either an embossing seal or a rubber stamp. Unlike some other states, there are no designations that require you to use one over the other for different situations.

Though it probably goes without saying, you can’t use your New Hampshire land surveyor stamp after your license has expired, so be sure to keep an eye on that date. Obviously, if you’re under suspension by the state of New Hampshire, you can be brought up on charges for continuing to use your stamp. You can, however, apply for a temporary permit for up to 30 days if you are considered eligible for a permanent license.

Before ever using a stamp that’s been issued to you, make sure you go through the above to ensure yours will be recognized by the State of New Hampshire.
